Scott-1

Meet Scott, our Duty Manager, who helps look after the daily operation across our resort and acts as one of the main points of contact for our guests. Next time you visit, be sure to say hello.

Find out more about Scott’s role, and his previous hospitality experience below.

Tell us a little about your career history to date?

When I was 18, I joined a small, family run hotel called the Rowardennan Hotel situated at the foot of Ben Lomond. I started off as a Kitchen Porter before being able to join the chef brigade. From here I moved on to Argyll Holidays in Lochgoilhead where I also held a Chef role.

I then decided to take a hospitality sidestep with a couple of front facing roles at The Glasgow Grosvener Hotel. I spent 2 years learning new skills as a Night Porter before being promoted to Night Manager and in my final year, I moved into a Front of House Supervisor role.

My next career move took me here to Moness Resort where I’ve been part of the Reception and Front of House team for over a year now.

You’ve recently been promoted to Duty Manager. Congratulations! What are you most looking forward to in this role?

I am very much looking forward to being more involved with different departments and just being able to learn new things. I have already been on a course for swimming pool, plant room and hot tub training and found it really interesting to be able to understand more about operating and maintaining these facilities.

Tell us three things you need to be able to take on a hospitality role.

Everyone in hospitality needs to be good at communicating, have a flexible approach and be good at multi-tasking!

What is your favourite things about working at Moness?

It has to be getting the opportunity to be part of the team here! We have such a good group of people, who all work hard for each other as well as our guests.  I feel it’s essential to have a good working atmosphere and Moness certainly has one of the best I’ve experienced so far in my career to date.
