Aberfeldy Highland Games
The Aberfeldy Highland Games has been running for over 60 years and is located on the picturesque site of Wades Park, just on the outskirts of the Town. The setting offers spectators and participants alike the great views of the Wade Bridge and River Tay not to mention the attractive northern Weem Rock views and the delightful western hills of Glen Lyon.
It is worth attending just for the setting!
The event takes place every August and is spread over two days (2018 dates TBA) absolutely filled with a whole host of different sights and activities for you to thoroughly enjoy. The specific activities for each year can be found on the Aberfeldy Games Website but to give you a taster activities include horse and pony classes for children, working hunter classes, pet shows, mounted games, fancy dress on horseback, sheep and cattle championships, heavyweight athletes and highland dancers. Whatever your fancy, there is sure to be something for you.
You can also enjoy the funfair, bucking broncho and various crafts and trade stands to take away that special memorabilia.
All of this is in addition to the actual Highland Games themselves introduced by the marching Pipe Band- a sight not to be missed.
Car parking is a plenty along with full catering facilities and toilets (including a disabled unit).
